Standing across the street from Diana's
Sharon could not wait to go inside.
Memorabilia from Diana's Sweet Shoppe when it was in Port Huron is showcased in the front window. The original newspaper announcement of the grand opening of Diana's, the telephone and typewriter, dishes and menu are displayed.

Walking inside was a blast from the past! Candy jars, soda fountain and even the cashier cage.
Although Diana's holds a place in the hearts of most people in Port Huron, we did not understand what was so special about Diana's that someone would actually move it....lock stock and barrel to Nashville Tennessee.
The young lady who heads the kitchen came out to talk with us and explained that Gibson offered to buy the Violano-Virtuoso but the owners would not sell it by itself. Gibson desperately wanted this beautiful machine and since it is one of very few in existance today. They made a deal with Leo and Bill Deligianis to sell the Violano-Virtuoso only if Gibson recreated the entire building and opened it for business.
Unfortunately the Violano-Virtuoso was waiting to be repaired when we visited.
